Conservation Shophouses are the IN thing now....
These conservation shophouses give an air of charm and character, that high rise buildings are lack of.
In recent years, we see big established corporations setting their offices at these charming conservation shophouses, for instance Wilmar, AIA, etc. Shophouses have also been converted to tastefully designed boutique Hotels, for instance Majestic, 1929, etc. Expatriates are also moving towards shophouses as their rented residences.
While private residential market has been rather quiet, shophouses transactions have sent the cash register ringing, be it shop rental, purchase/sale of shophouse, etc. There is definately a further UPSIDE for these shophouses!

I have come across this interesting straits times article on beautiful shophouses and would like to share with all of you.
